TECH TOOL

My tech tool was slideshare. I really liked exploring slideshare. I use power point a lot in my classroom throughout the year. I recently started to use slideshare to upload my presentations online. With slideshare you can take any power point presentation and put it on to a blog or a web page. Presentations that contain many images are difficult to upload. It may take several minutes to upload a presentation. I have found that presentations containing pictures must first be converted to a pdf file. Once the presentation is converted to a pdf file it can be easily uploaded and shared.

SIG #3 reflection

I am excited to reflect on a SIG Blog presentation....I am going to reflect on my BLOG!  I have really started to use my blog regularly. This group showed me so many more ways to use it. My students are great at using blogs for journal entries, but this group was able to open my eyes to multiple uses! It seems like students really like to blog. I think that the group touched on a number of ways to introduce blogging. I really like the DIGITAL PORTFOLIO idea!!

SIG #2 reflection

Ipad applications in education. Wow. I do not have an ipad, but I want one now! I think ipads are great for the classroom. Especially after all of the great ways this group has shown me. I never imagined there were that many things that can be done with an ipad. The apps make the ipad so easy to use. I think that students will be engaged because the technology is so fun to use. I really liked their explanations for how and why ipads should be used in the classroom. The SIG showed a lot of different tools that seem excellent. I think that students would jump at a chance to use and ipad in class! Great pres.! Very informational.

21st century survey

Well the survey was as expected....inner-city, urban schools, are way behind when it comes to 21st century thinking.....uphill battle!
